Review:A very interesting read. I have a friend whose daughter is currently a heroin addict and I'm going to recommend this book to both of them. I found this book very thought provoking even for myself. The study guide at the end is amazing. Read more
Review:It Happened to Nancy is a touching story that every teenage girl should read. It shows you that you are not the only one that goes through things such as rape or AIDS. Nancy was a very brave girl who should have had the chance to live. I love how this book shows that she was confused and needed help because most of us do. The questions and answers at the end of the book were very helpful. Read more
Review:As a member of the target audience for this book (midway through my teenage years), I really disliked this book. I picked the book out for myself to help me improve my life/mindset, and I was very disappointed.
The Good: The book starts off okay, and Shipp's voice is likable and mildly funny. He's not too pretentious or boring. Also, some of his advice is pretty sound and it gave me a relatively new perspective on how to identify sources of problems in my life.
The Bad: Then the bo... Read more
Review:Can I just say absolutely AMAZING! The story was engaging and you can't help but fall in love with the characters! I simply did not want to put this book down! The ending definitely leaves you longing for more. It's aggravating, but in a good way! You must read this book. It will not disappoint. Well done Frost Kay! I eagerly await the next one. Read more
Review:Some things were interesting and probably helpful. I think most of looking younger is in your mind. You have to be convinced that all this works and I think if you don't think and believe that, not much will work. Read more
Review:Most examples the author gibes are a little bit odd and not quite realistic. I'm a huge fan of realistic real life conversations that actually happened, so in that regard I think this book could be improved with more extensive conversations that show how the author applied some of those tips.
The other reason why I rated it at 2 stars is because the DOMINANCE part. The whole part of how to convey dominance was completely off to me. When I read the examples of the successful fitness blog o... Read more
Review:The title of this book is "Conversations With God", not "Conversations With Some Words Some Guys Wrote Down a Few Thousand Years Ago That Passes Itself Off as the Word Of God" or "Conversations with Man-Made Religions" We may believe the Bible is the inspired word of God but we don't know that it is. We may believe we know the will of God but we don't. All this book does is to give teenagers pause to think about what is good for them and what is bad. The same way that I believe a real diety wou... Read more
Review:This book confirms what I have been teaching for many years, If you do not love yourself how do you expect others to love you.
You must tell yourself everyday "I am a beautiful, loving, generous and happy person" and each day will get better and better.
The Universe is testing us all at the moment so send out the love and it will return in many wonderful ways. Read more
Review:Very clear and concise book that pre-teens can learn from. It is written in a way that is scientific, but not overly stuffy and in a language that can be easly understood by a pre-teen/teen. This is a sexual education book, so yes it does talk about reproductive organs of both boys and girls. It does discuss sex. It does have illustrations. It also includes slang for reproductive organs. As an open-minded adult who encourages her child to ask questions, I really liked this book. I read it first... Read more
