Historical Romance
Review:Alex and Maddie's story begins with both being single. Alex is a Lord and prestige and duties to protect his family and their Castle. Maddie was not as fortunate. She's in a predictable position. Her parents had died and she was at the mercy of her cruel step-brother, Kenneth. He beat her and berated her daily. You must read how their lives finally crossed paths. You will love how the author spins their story! Read more
Review:Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was short, sweet and the lead characters were often believable. It was a stand alone story while setting up for a sequel, as was expected. Bottom line: I enjoyed the read. Read more
Review:I read the whole thing, but I really asked myself why. (I have only stopped reading a couple of books, ever, once started.) Do publishers not have editors anymore? It was so poorly written—and I don't think I've ever written such a blunt assessment of a book, and I don't regret causing hurt to anyone's feelings—but, give me a break! I kept thinking this reads as though it was written by a 13 year old who likes to write. (And who doesn't have an editor to catch all the errors of logic, plot, typo... Read more
Review:The writer didn't ease things in the story. One minute someones waiting for something and before you know it, its already happening. I don't want to spoil the book, but you'll understand once you read it. I thought it was a good book and have already bought the second book. Read more
Review:I felt depressed throughout the book. I did not like any of the characters and was sick of hearing the whining from Joanna. Nothing grasped me in the book making me want to read ever single word. I actually just started skipping through pages. I even tried reading through the adult content and felt like I was reading a magazine. Save your money, the description is more riveting than the book. Read more
Review:J.L.Jarvis writes an informative and entertaining account regarding "the killing times." The fictional account stays close to the historical accounts and is an eye opener of the religious prejudices f the time. Read more
Review:Anything Lynsay Sands write is always entertaining, I usually do not read this time period but have enjoyed this book. If you like a laugh, adventure and romance this and her other books from this time period are a darn good read. Read more
Review:This book never really came together for me. I love this author, and I love this series, and this book had a great premise, but it just didn't come together. The heroine was immature and inconsistent. The hero was two-dimensional - handsome and knightly - but not compelling. They didn't have much chemistry together. The storyline was great, but because the leads weren't emotionally engaging, it read flat. I do sincerely hope that the author will launch a new series. I would very much look forwar... Read more
Review:While there was nothing glaringly wrong with this book, there were a few areas which could have used some deeper explanation, and others that seemed to drag on a bit too long. It was well-paced, but had a somewhat simple writing style I found lacking true depth. A good story, worth the $.99 I paid, but was easy to put down and I read a few other books at the same time before coming back to finish this one. Read more
Review:This was a terrific story of love between two people from opposite sides of a terrible war. The H, Robbie was a strong masculine character whose fatal flaw was his incessant desire for revenge. The h, Lady Roslyn, known for her beauty throughout England, is not only beautiful, but virtuous. Robbie must choose between revenge and love.
I couldn't put it down.
I also really enjoyed the author's notes at the end that explain further the historical facts of the time. I highly recommend this b... Read more
